Advertising on Race Navigator is a great way for event directors to increase visibility and boost registrations. Whether it’s your inaugural year or 25th year, we’re here to help. Our low-cost ads are an easy way to increase traffic to your site and are also highly targeted to ensure you’re reaching the correct audience. Sponsored Races

The most popular way to advertise on Race Navigator is via our "Sponsored Race" advertisements.  These prominently displayed ads are located on the Search Page directly above the search results (see 'Sponsored Race' image to the right for an example). This highly visible location features ads that are geographically targeted, making them extremely relevant to the user and more effective for you.

What do we mean by “geographically targeted”? We’ve built an advertising engine that displays ads based on the user's unique search criteria. For example, when a user searches for marathons in Colorado, they are shown only ads for races in Colorado. This type of targeting is ideal for the user because of increased ad relevance and is more effective for the advertiser due to a higher click-through rate.

So let's get into some specifics. As you can see in the 'Sponsored Races' image, there are two ad slots which are available. And since the ads are geographically targeted (i.e. each state has its own ads), there are two ad slots available per geographic area. A further explanation of these geographic areas is below, along with their respective pricing.

  • States: State advertising is available for $100 per each three-month time frame. There are 100 slots available (two slots per each state).
  • Regions: Region advertising is available for $150 per each three-month time frame. There are 24 slots available (two slots per each region).  See below chart for available regions.

  • Nationwide: Nationwide advertising is available for $100 per each three-month time frame. Only two slots are available and races must have a minimum of 500 participants to be considered.

As mentioned above, pricing is bundled into three-month packages.  Those packages are:

  • Spring (3/1 – 5/31)
  • Summer (6/1 – 8/31)
  • Fall (9/1 – 11/30)
  • Winter (12/1 – 2/28)

It is important to keep in mind that marathon runners typically sign-up for their races at least four to five months in advance.  Therefore we recommend purchasing ads well in advance of your actual race date. In addition, it’s important to analyze your own registration history and review when participants are signing up for your race. You’ll want to make sure the time frame(s) you purchase are in-line with your own historical registration trends.
