A point-to-point race from Hayward to Telemark Resort on the Birkie Trail, which is a mowed, grass-covered trail that is relatively smooth and easy to traverse. This trail is also used for the famous American Birkebeiner Cross-Country Ski Marathon during the winter. The course itself includes the famous Birkie hills, with the largest climb at mile 17 which is a 200', 2-mile incline.
