I ran this in 2010 & 2014-17 (times ranging from 4:05 to 4:33) & consider it my "hometown marathon" - being just a half hour drive away. It's very well organized as are all races staged by the Annapolis Striders. Sometimes they have extra good swag (duffle bag one year). It's a flat, straight, smooth course, so a gentle way to start out the year of marathons. It's a bit crowded once you get on the trail, but thins out greatly after the half'ers peel off. There's only one "real" hill (about 6 miles in) & the rest is your typical flat rails to trails terrain, excepting a few small rollers. Due to the time of year, it can be cold & wet (30's/40's & rain) - that's the challenge with this one. A very good race & I'll keep coming back.
