Cold, wind, rain... and loved every second of it :). It's honestly difficult to find any bad aspects of this race.. they've been doing it for so long that they have everything down to a tee -- from the pre-race organization, to corrals, to volunteers (thank you all!), to spectators (also thank you all!), and everything in between. This is my second time running Boston and I'd love to go back every year after. The 'marathon buzz' of all the runners is absolutely unforgettable when you're there.. everyone is in an excellent mood (even despite the weather) and that makes it well worth the money. I absolutely love this race/course and would highly recommend it to anyone fortunate enough to qualify.

This is my 6th Boston marathon and it was just as electrifying as my first. I typically train hard for my BQs so I can enjoy a more relaxing race at Boston (even though it's sometimes tough with all the great competitors and elites!).

This race is a must-do. Running with such a talented field of marathoners is humbling. You might not run your PR here due to the difficult time of year for training and the challenging course but you will enjoy every minute of this iconic race.

If you want to run a major with the best organization in the business, this is the race. The BAA has running races down to a science and you won’t be disappointed from the expo to the finish. The city of Boston also really supports this event with probably the best spectators I’ve ever experienced at a marathon. Do what you can to run this race.

I had a rock'n great time at this marathon. I've BQ'd several times, but this was my first Boston.

Pros: Large crowds, course well-marked, plenty of water stations and potties.
Some are intimidated by Newton/Heartbreak hill, but I really enjoyed the late-race challenge
Beautiful course
Runners' village

Negatives: The expo was a complete zoo. I found it fairly difficult to navigate.
