Wow -- what a great race. This marked my 32nd marathon and I'm constantly surprised by all these well run, lesser known marathons. I somehow stumbled upon this one through the rat-race on marathonguide and my only complaint is that I didn't find it earlier.

The course was surprisingly flat. When looking at the profile on the race's website, it looks really hilly. Race Navigator does a great job of giving it a low difficulty rating because it's flat. Also, it's quite scenic as well -- I can't say there were any dead spots. And the crowd support was surprisingly good as well.

All-in-all, it was a great marathon and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to race in the new england area.

I've been looking for a good substitute to NYC for a while now, and I think I've finally found. The Hartford Marathon was a great race and I can't say enough about it. Everything from registration to the post-race was spot-on. The course was quite scenic (and FLAT!) and the organization was perfect. I absolutely love when race directors put their hearts and soles into the race --- it definitely shows. And the volunteers and fans were all great as well. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. 5-out-of-5 for me!

5-stars for this race.

I honestly can't say anything bad about the race --- it's an awesome mid-sized marathon with a great scenic course and perfect organization. The start line was a tad congested, but once it opened up, there was no problems at all. The course is beautiful as it tours around the city and through local neighborhoods, and I really liked that it had a lot of turns and always kept you guessing. There was also plenty of aid stations to help you along and the volunteers and crowds were great. I'll definitely be back for this one.
