The Glass City Marathon course begins in the center of the University of Toledo campus, heads north into the quiet neighborhoods of Old Orchard and Ottawa Hills, then leads you to the area's finest Metroparks system utilizing the University Parks bike Trail. A tour through Sylvania leads you to Olander Park, passing the statue of Sy Mah then back down the bike trail to a short tour of the UT campus concluding with a grand finish in the Glass Bowl Stadium.

While we don’t offer stand-up mile markers, clocks at every mile, and large crowd support, what we do offer for the low pre-registration price of $25-$50, an awesome tech shirt, a classy finishers medal, an accurate/road-marked/chip timed/certified/Boston-qualifier course, stocked aid stations every 2 miles, plenty of hot food and showers post-race, and THE GREATEST volunteers in the land.

Race Navigator created the Difficulty Rating scale to help runners quickly compare the difficulty between marathon courses. The scale is 0.0 to 5.0 with 0.0 being the easiest and 5.0 being the most difficult. A further explanation is below:

Rating Course Description
0 to 1 These courses are mostly downhill and very fast – excellent for PR/BQ’s.
1 to 2 A rating of “1” means the course is flat; closer to “2” you can expect small hills.
2 to 3 The course has moderate hills.
3 to 4 The course has substantial hills.
4 to 5 Very difficult course usually with technical terrain.
